Decide what form of heating gas boiler you need
There are many different types of gas Gas Central Heating Systems available to you. Most if not all of these Central Heating Systems comprise of a heating boiler, some central heating radiators and connecting pipework.
Air conditioning is not a priority for residents of Europe and northern countries as these regions experience cold weather most of the year with short duration summers. Most of us need a decent heating supply far more; this is why the majority of new houses that are being built in this day and age are built with a Gas Central Heating System.
Heating is essential, particularly whens winter is heading our way. Only then you can relax and feel cosy inside your house. So you want to be sure that your Central Heating System is dependable. Additionally, your central heating system should also be safe, user-friendly and durable.
Gas Central Heating system can be divided into two broad classes, pumped/vented systems and sealed systems.
Pumped or vented Central Heating systems are most popularly used. Heating systems using the pump or vent process are equipped with a tank to allow for feeding of replacement water and expansion of heated water. The hot water storage tank provides your home with warm water and brings heat to the central heating radiators. The expansion tank has enough space to allow for the expanding of water as a result of heating. A pumped/vented heating system requires that the tank be installed at the highest level within the house – such as an attic or loft space, certainly on the top floor. It heats the house and doubles as the water supply.
A pumped/vented Gas Central Heating System is what most homes probably have, especially those built many years earlier.
A slightly newer central heating boiler is sealed heating system and this is the preferred heating system in newer properties. This system doesn’t have water tanks as it’s a closed heating system, this will save you space and reduce maintenance costs as there are fewer components. This unvented system eliminates water tanks and loft plumbing, thus giving a number of advantages.
- There is no chance of pipes freezing in the attic.
- There won’t be any repair work on the tank or pipes which will be in the attic for a pumped/vented system.
- The chance of a leaking water tank is all together absent.
- Unlike pumped/vented systems, air is not drawn through open vents so the possibility of air locks, corrosion and sludge is much lower.
- The mains water supply can flush the sealed system if required.
Such a Sealed Gas Central Heating System is installed with all the required gauges, controls and safeguards. The mains water supplies the water required for the sealed Gas Central Heating system. It feeds directly from the main water supply.
A pressure vessel containing tightly packed gas can allow a sealed system to have normal fluctuations of pressure; a diaphragm serves as a barrier between the gas and water in the sealed system. A safety valve will let water to escape or fill up depending on whether the pressure becomes too high or too low respectively.
As compared to other heating systems, Gas Central Heating systems are cheaper to run. They also provide you with complete control which is much more than other heating systems can say about themselves.
