Get a fresh heating boiler to save pounds

Central heating is the best way of getting ready for when winter approaches with its longer nights and freezing temperatures. And for keeping your home cosy and warm, you need a good, safe and reliable central heating system, not one that breaks down when the first freeze appears.

Most heating systems compromise of a central heating boiler; radiator and pipework, there are basically two different sorts of gas central heating systems, one being a pumped system and the other being a vented system.

Pumped systems are more frequent, they have a feed and an expansion tank, another hot water tank is the core of the system, it stores hot water as it heats up and then uses the pipes to transfer heat to the heating radiators. The expansion tank will always allow for any water expansion that may occur as it gets hot.

In contrast, Sealed systems eliminate this primary water tank section. It’s basically closed, so there is really no need for any water tanks and the space they require. Chief advantages of vented systems are: there is no risk of leaking water tank; major problems like air locks are also not associated with such systems; moreover, they are specifically useful in cold countries because there is no risk of freezing pipes.

So you might ask what is really the point of getting gas central heating?.

The simple answer is that it will allow you to heat your entire home or office quickly without compromising the air quality. Gas fires, electric heaters and storage heaters were more commonly used in the past. These primitive heaters invariably resulted in a harsh, sticky and smelly atmosphere.

With gas central heating systems, these problems are not encountered, but your central heating system will require regular maintenance. Spring and summertime often sees these systems shut down and completely ignored, only to be abruptly switched on when a chilly wind blows in. Instead, as the weather begins to change, you should use it by degrees in order to spot any problems and give you time to call an heating plumber before winter.

It is also important to remember that most household central heating systems allow in dust or air, thus requiring regular drainage. The best way to do it is to keep a bucket under the valve, and slowly open it to allow all the water to come out; before closing the valve, ensure that no more water is coming out.
