How many diverse forms of central heating gas boiler are there
Various types of Gas Central Heating Systems are available in the market. Most if not all of these Gas Central Heating Systems comprise of a boiler, some central heating radiators and connecting pipework.
Across the majority of Northern Europe the climate is not warm enough to warrant air conditioning. In fact, a decent central heating system is a necessity in these regions, and due to this, a majority of new houses have a Central Heating system.
With wintertime coming up round the corner heating should be at the front of your mind. Only then you can relax and feel cosy inside your house. For this, you need a reliable gas boiler in your Gas Central Heating system. It should be durable, easy to use and completely safe.
Sealed and vented or pumped systems are the two leading types of Gas Central Heating Systems available.
Pumped/vented systems are the ones that many homes have and they have the most components resulting in potentially higher maintenance costs. The pumped/vented Gas Central Heating Systems have an expansion tank and a feed. Your heating radiators are heated and your water is stored in a hot water tank. The tank makes way for any water expansion that is caused by the heating process. You will most likely find the expansion tank kept in the highest part of the house. It heats the house and doubles as the water supply.
Many homes feature a pumped/vented Gas Central Heating System, particularly the ones constructed several year ago.
A slightly newer heating boiler is sealed heating system and this is the preferred heating system in newer properties. As the name suggests, sealed system is a closed system; no tank is required in this system. The attic has no tanks or piping, the system is completely enclosed and locked, it’s not ventilated, and that has its advantages:.
- No risk of freezing pipes in the attic.
- No maintenance or repair work is required for the pipes and tank which would have been in the attic.
- This decreases the chances of a possible leakage.
- Reduced risk of airlocks, corrosion and sludge as there isn’t a chance of air being drawn down into the system through open vents as the system is sealed.
- The mains water supply can flush the sealed system if needed.
A sealed Gas Central Heating System is a packaged unit with all the necessary controls and safety devices. The water for the system is provided directly from the main water pipe of the house. The main water supply feeds the system immediately under pressure.
A pressure vessel containing compressed gas, which is kept separate from the sealed system by a diaphragm, is used to allow any pressure variations. The pressure in a sealed Central Heating System is controlled by a valve that lets water out if the pressure becomes too high and opens to refill the system with water if the pressure gets too low.
As compared to other heating systems, Gas Central Heating systems are cheaper to run. And they provide you with much more control and choice when it comes to your heating compared to any other systems.
