Combi gas boiler systems offer many storage space saving and gas cost-efficiency advantages for the smaller dwelling house. All you need to fit the full central heating system is a combi heating boiler and balanced flue. If your heating engineer adds in some radiators and the appropriate copper pipes you have absolutely everything to warm your dwelling house. Many people might enquire whether some components had been missed from this system. The hot water storage cylinder, the feed and enlargement tank usually put in the attic, the central heating pump and other component parts that central heating and hot water systems seem to need.
It may surprise you to learn that a combination gas boiler does not want these pieces. The hot water storage cylinder can be excluded from your system, space in the loft can be saved by leaving out the feed and expansion tank, the combi boiler case also has room to contain the other component parts mentioned. As a consequence you can save a considerable amount of room in your household.
Whilst you might reckon all this is new actually combination heating boilers have been put in for a number of years. They have a longer history in Europe but have now become the most common heating boiler in the UK. By comparison with orthodox heating boilers you will see that there are two major differences. The first is that hot water circulates around a sealed system when warming the central heating. The feed and enlargement cylinder intended for the loft can now be dispensed with. Incorporation of a hot water storage vessel within the heating boiler also removes any need for the hot water storage tank.
The heating boiler produces hot water immediately as it is called for, the gas boiler is aware of this when you turn on a hot water tap. Cold water is quickly heated up by the use of an economical heat exchanger. The heat exchanger is heated by diverting circulating hot water from the central heating system. This permits cold mains water to be rapidly heated before leaving the hot water valve.
Hot water production is prioritised ahead of the transit of hot water to the radiators. The instant the valve is shut the combination heating boiler will return to rendering hot water to the radiators.
It is feasible to put in a new boiler in a petite apartment and not require a significant amount of space.
